XY - Primal Clash, the 62nd expansion to the long running and incredibly popular Pokemon Trading Card Game, will be available next month.

The expansion will hit shelves on February 4 and add 160 new cards - making it one of the largest expansions by far. Two new card premade decks titled Earth's Pulse and Ocean's Core will also be available at that time.

The set will introduce the Primal Reversion mechanic, which was introduced in the recent 3DS titles Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby. The overwhelmingly powerful mechanic, currently available to Primal Kyogre-EX and Primal Groudon-EX, allows the two Pokemon to revert to their ancient, original forms and cause untold devastation on the battlefield.

Additionally, 12 new EX - the Pokemon equivalent of rare and powerful cards - will also be making an appearance. So be on the lookout for the following: Sharpedo-EX, Trevenant-EX, Wailord-EX, and Camerupt-EX, plus two new Mega Evolution Pokémon: Mega Aggron-EX and Mega Gardevoir-EX.

A new mechanic called 'Ancient Traits' will be printed onto 10 to 20 percent of cards and will function as updated abilities. Lastly, the new set will include 31 new Trainer cards: "Many brand-new Trainer cards, four full-art rare Ultra cards, four secret rare cards, and two Special Energy cards add new depth and tactics to the Pokémon TCG."

The X and Y sub-expansion was released last February as the start of the Sixth Generation. Similar to the way Magic: The Gathering releases its sets, the expansion was part of a block of cards, the expansions Flash Fire, Furious Fists and Phantom Forces.
