Game Of Thrones Season 5 Premiere Date Announced, Returning Alongside Silicon Valley And Veep
Get excited, Game of Thrones fans: we have a return date for the next season of HBO's hit series.
Season 5 will air on April 12, as HBO just announced via Twitter. Your favorite characters and locations in Westeros and beyond were always likely to return in the spring, but now we now exactly when to expect the first episode.
We learned last month that filming had just wrapped on the season, preparing us for a long wait until the premiere. Three months will no doubt go by very quickly. Silicon Valley, which debuted last year and always aired after Game of Thrones episodes, will also be returning on April 12. Julia Louis-Dreyfus comedy Veep will also return on that date.
Entertainment Weekly recently revealed that HBO will be showing the last two episodes of Season 4 in IMAX theaters ahead of the Season 5 premiere. It will be shown in 150 theaters around the country on January 23, and only play for one week. The episodes are remastered for IMAX--check your area for listings.
