Orphan Black Season 3 News: Felix Gets Bigger Role In Coming Season
With all the clone drama in Orphan Black, it's easy to forget that there are other people all wrapped up in the mess created by these factions. Season three will be turning some of its attention back to a background character.
Felix (Jordan Gavaris), Sarah's (Tatiana Masalany) foster brother, will be getting his own storyline this season. "He's still supporting Sarah in her journey, but he's starting to think for himself [and] ask his own questions," Orphan Black co-creator John Fawcett revealed during an interview with Yahoo.
Up until now, he's been a sort of sidekick for Sarah and the other sisters' storylines. This upcoming season sees him getting closer to Cosima as he begins his own search for answers. The character will be spending a good deal of time with Felix over the coming season.
Part of this is due to the fact that the two have a different relationship than the others. "There's no disparity between them. She treats him not like an accessory, like a crisis counselor," said Gavaris about his maligned character. "She treats him like a friend,"
Friends will be in short supply for the sisters in season three, it seems. We've heard a lot about the new challenges and adversaries they will be facing off against but we shouldn't be surprised, as the ending of last season was pretty explosive.
These statements seem to indicate that the new season won't turn the show into a completely action-packed extravaganza, and will instead still contain thought-provoking and emotional moments.
Orphan Black returns to BBC America on April 18.
