You can watch the gameplay in the video below, which finally brings Relic's hit games to modern hardware following their 1999 and 2003 releases. Homeworld Remastered Collection also includes preserved, compatible versions of the original titles as a free bonus to fans.

The game is set to release in just under a month--February 25--and will do so alongside a Steam multiplayer beta. Anyone who purchases the game (available for pre-order now for $29.74, down from the normal $34.99) will get access to the beta.

The team at Gearbox has recreated every aspect of the game alongside members of the original Relic team, from the fully remastered score to the high-definition models and textures. The multiplayer modes from both games have been combined into one experience, tying old code into new changes that will progress as fan feedback comes in throughout the beta.

"Homeworld is among the greatest strategy games in history, and we're very proud of the work our team has put into bringing this exceptional series to modern PCs," said Brian Martel, Chief Creative Officer at Gearbox Software. "We received a lot of great feedback from the passionate Homeworld fan community, and we hope to deliver a game they - and new fans from around the world - can get lost in for countless hours to come."
