2005 saw the release of Fahrenheit aka Indigo Prophecy, the first "interactive film". The digital re-master of the game is coming to Steam in a few days.

The original game was created by David Cage of Quantic Dream. It wasn't your normal paranormal thriller, as Cage actually rejected traditional gaming genres, labelling this title an "interactive film" which it lived up to.

The game had a fully immersive and amazing storyline. The style of gameplay received rave reviews from gaming journals.

The remastered version will include enhanced visuals and full controller support. The game was originally leaked on Amazon but the page has since been taken down, reports Eurogamer.

Fahrenheit was a paranormal thriller that centered around a series of murders in New York City. The focus of the gameplay was to discover what was behind the strange murders. For no apparent reason, people were becoming possessed and murdering strangers, all in public. It was up to you to figure out what was causing it and how to stop it.

Quantic Dreams is also the studio behind Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls where they employ a similar style of gameplay. Their games are heavy on the story and although they don't slouch on the gameplay, it's not the focus.

The remastered version will be rated M for mature but is uncut. The North American version was titled Indigo Prophecy and was given a higher rating before they decided to remove the scandalous sex scene.

Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remasterd is due to be released on January 29.
