'Fire & Axe: A Viking Saga' Game Gets Release Date In May: Pre-Order Bonus Offers Exclusive Miniatures

'Fire & Axe: A Viking Saga' Hits Stores In May: Publisher Offering Exclusive Minis To Those That Pre-Order

IDW Games and Pandasaurus Games have not only revealed when their Viking epic Fire & Axe: A Viking Saga will be hitting this May, but has revealed exclusive minis that will only be available by pre-ordering this game.

Fire & Axe: A Viking Saga was originally released as Viking Fury back in 2004, and already has been re-released by Asmodee in 2007. Both editions have long been out of print and getting a copy now will cost you multiple hundreds of dollars on the resale market. Thankfully IDW and Pandasaurus are here with a new art team to help beautify the game and meet the incredible demand for new copies.

“Fire & Axe has long been a grail game for serious gamers,” said Molly Wardlaw of Pandasaurus Games. “We’re overjoyed to be giving it new life. Get ready for phenomenal new art, which fans are already raving about. From the scintillating box art to gorgeous card designs, to jaw dropping minis, we’ve carefully updated every aspect of the design of this classic hit—to make for something even better."

There will be a ton of new plastic miniatures in the game and three extra to those of you who pre-order it through your local game store, bringing the total number of minis up to over 90.

Fire & Axe seats three to five players and plays in 90 minutes as each player loads their ships with vikings to trade with or conquer Europe, but let's be honest, these are Vikings. If your friends are anything like mine there won't be much diplomacy involved. The game also offers a mission system that allows players to complete tasks on mission cards that offer bonuses when completed. The three exclusive minis will be Vikings that help you do all your raiding and settling.
