Poltergeist 2015 Movie News: New Trailer Shows Off Frightening Reboot Of Classic

They’re Here! Trailer For Poltergeist Remake Has Appeared

It's here! The new trailer for the Poltergeist remake has been released giving horror hounds everywhere a look at the take on the classic film.

New IT Movie Will Stay Closer To Horror Filled Source Material

The first thing to note here is that this movie has a PG-13 rating but let's remain optimistic. If there's no gore or sexual themes the rating stays low. To be fair, the original didn't have those things either.

The trailer gives us a look at the idyllic suburban family that has moved into what is meant to be their dream home. If you have watched any horror ever, even if it wasn't the original film, you know this will not end well.

One of the main changes that the trailer has from the original is how isolated the family is. They don't seem to really reach out for help. When their daughter disappears, they don't call the cops (why wouldn't you call the cops? I would call the cops) and even though they do call in a paranormal investigator, it doesn't seem that the full team of investigators will be making an appearance.

It also feels like this movie will be relying on a lot of new horror tropes, IE creepy toys and supernatural forces randomly snatching people up and tossing them.

The new film is really a reimagining of the original so although it will likely pay homage to key classic scenes, this may very well be a very different movie. House is still on top of a burial ground though.

You can watch the trailer below. Poltergeist comes out on July 24, 2015.
