Marvel Secret Wars News: All-Female 'A-Force' Team To Take Place Of Avengers In New Universe

All-Female 'A-Force' Team Takes Place Of Avengers In New Marvel Universe

As hinted at yesterday- Marvel made a huge announcement regarding their upcoming Secret Wars event. When the Secret Wars begin, the Avengers will be no more, replaced by an all-female team, A-Force.

This is huge. Earth's mightiest heroes have been a staple in the Marvel Universe since 1963, not to mention one of the most popular franchises that Marvel currently has. Getting rid of the team and replacing them with an all female group is a bold move.

Marvel is not messing about here.

The new team will be composed of She-Hulk, Dazzler, Medusa, Nico Minoru to name a few. The new team will be formed in the Arcadia section of Battleworld, according to USA Today.

"We've purposefully assembled a team composed of different characters from disparate parts of the Marvel U, with very different power sets, identities and ideologies," co-writer G. Willow Wilson.

These women are all already super heroes. That's sort of the thing about Secret Wars, the Battleworld is pretty dedicated to sussing out which supers are the pick of the litter and which are zeroes.

Now, we've been told that the changes will carry on past Secret Wars so the death of The Avengers will not be retconned and that could mean that these lovely ladies are our new mightiest heroes.

Seems like Lady Thor was just a way to ease us all into a reality where we have to get used to women saving the world. I can dig it.
