We know you love Candy Crush Saga. But do you love Candy Crush, or do you love Candy Crush? Because it does not have time for the former. Certainly not tomorrow - Valentine's Day (in case you could ever forget) - when King will be activating the game's first ever free in-game challenge.

Starting tomorrow at 3 a.m EST (8 a.m GMT), players can log onto Candy Crush and try their hands at matching 1000 red candies; yes, 1000. The brave players who do so within the 24 hour period - and let's face it, if you're playing Candy Crush on Valentine's Day you have got some time - will receive 10 golden bars and a lollipop hammer for free.

In addition to this, any players who buy gold bars during this period will also be granted unlimited lives for 24 hours.

"At King we're always looking for new ways to entertain our players and continually add new content to our games," said Sebastian Knutsson, Chief Creative Officer at King. "And this Valentine's Day is no exception. For the first time we'll be offering all the Candy Crush Saga players around the world the chance to compete in a live in-game challenge. Players will have 24 hours to match 1000 red candies on any level and those that reach the target will receive some sweet in-game rewards."

To translate: we are always looking for new ways to politely encourage our victi--customers to spend mon--points. But, all snark aside, it's a fun little game if you don't get swept up into it. That it's taken so long for King to add in-game events is bizarre, but if this proves successful, there will doubtless be more in the coming months. Green candies for St. Patty's! Pastel egg shaped things for Easter. And on and on.
