No Master Chief Required. Halo Nighfall Live Action Series Hits Digital Video Providers In March

Halo fans are not exactly known for buying a new Halo game and exploring the non-multiplayer options. This is understandable, Halo is one of the great multiplayer experiences of our time. But if you were twiddling your thumbs while 343 constantly patched the very broken Halo: Master Chief Collection last November, you may have missed the live-action Nightfall series that came included with the Halo Channel.

Latest Dying Light Patch Restores Modding

Luckily, if you either paid it no mind or did not purchase the Master Chief Collection (see aforementioned patches), then you are in business. Halo: Nightfall will be releasing digitally onto VOD services worldwide on March 17.

Taking place between Halo 4 and the upcoming Halo 5 Guardians, Nightfall stars Mike Colter (the future Luke Cage) as "Jameson Locke, a legendary manhunter and agent with the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), Earth's most powerful and secretive military branch." When a mission goes south really fast, Locke and his team of special forces must unravel a plot that draws them to an ancient, hellish artifact."

The Week In Games: Release Schedule For February 16 - DOA, Resident Evil And More

Locke will appear in Halo 5 Guardians, so it's really only a question of who else around him dies in the process.

Nightfall is created by executive Producer Ridley Scott (Prometheus, Blade Runner) and award-winning Director Sergio Mimica-Gezzan (Battlestar Galactica, The Pillars Of The Earth) the show also features an Christina Chong (24: Live Another Day), Steven Waddington (Sleepy Hollow) and Luke Neal (Final Prayer).

Check your online distributor next month. Nightfall will be available to rent and buy on March 17.
