First Lords Of The Fallen DLC Expansion 'The Ancient Labyrinth' Launches Next Month

CI Games has announced the release of the anticipated first DLC expansion to their action RPG, Lords of the Fallen.

The expansion, titled The Ancient Labyrinth, introduces "an all-new storyline set in a long-forgotten library that exists somewhere between the human and demonic realms." So...a library then. New monsters, gear, mysteries and traps reinforce the idea that not only should you never go to a library, but also that Lords of the Fallen remains a very challenging game.

The game will also reward players for playing through its twisted, haunted halls multiple times.

Lords of the Fallen has been compared to the Dark Souls series with its punishing brutality and commitment to slow and methodical encounters. The storyline is appropriately bleak enough, too. "In an unforgiving world where no sin is ever forgotten, Harkyn, a convicted criminal, is given a chance for redemption. Just when rulers of the world get close to finding a way to banish all evil from humans, an army of the long-ago defeated god attacks the human realm. Released from prison, Harkyn and his mentor, Kaslo, set out on a mission to stop the war."

The Ancient Labyrinth hits Steam, Xbox One and PSN Europe on March 3rd and PlayStation 4 in the U.S. on March 4th.

Check out the full trailer for a look into the tattered aisles of the library and gear up. The Ancient Labyrinth beckons.
