Available now from Gearbox Software on Steam for $34.99, the new game includes Homeworld 1 Remastered, Homeworld 2 Remastered, and both of the original titles preserved in their 1999 and 2003 states, now compatible on modern hardware. The remake includes new modeling and textures, 4K resolution support, and a combined multiplayer mode that fuses the competitive online features from both games.

Homeworld Remastered Collection was created at Gearbox with members of the original development team and the passionate fan community. The original is a regarded as a genre classic that helped define space strategy titles, and the remake is a labor of love.

"The genesis behind Homeworld was that of an epic journey," said Alex Garden, founder and former CEO of Relic Entertainment. "I could never have imagined, over 15 years later, that the journey would be so lovingly remastered by a passionate team that cares as much about that story as we do. The idea that people will be able to play through Homeworld again with technology, effects and detail we could only dream of at the time -- I can't wait."

"It's an absolute honor to make a franchise as important as Homeworld accessible to modern audiences," said Brian Martel, Chief Creative Officer at Gearbox Software. "I couldn't be prouder of the effort that has gone into presenting Homeworld as the experience it was always meant to be, not only as a co-owner of Gearbox but as a longtime fan of the series."

The multiplayer is currently in beta, but owning a copy of Homeworld Remastered grants you access. Homeworld Remastered Collection is available now through Steam only. You can purchase a much more expensive physical collectors edition, as well. We will have impressions and a full review for you, so check back for our thoughts on the remastering.
