Gritty Dragon Ball Z Fan Film Shows The Future If There Are No Z-Fighters

Dragon Ball Z holds a special place in many people's hearts. For many anime fans, it was their first look at the world of high action, high intensity animation. The series that graced television sets for many an afternoon has a new live action fan video and it's actually really good.

Dragon Ball Z: Light of Hope, like many fan videos of children's shows, takes a darker and grittier look at the series. Although, to be fair, the original DBZ is pretty brutal.

This one is a take on The History of Trunks. Goku and the other Z Fighters are dead (which, let's be honest, is not exactly a unusual state of being for these guys). The video focuses on Trunks and Gohan, Vegetta and Goku's sons, respectively, and their battle against the vicious Androids.

Inspector Gadget Is Making A Return In New Reboot Coming To Netflix This March

In this 13 minute feature we area also introduced briefly to Bulma and the deadly Androids #17 and #18.

The weird thing about this is that it's not actually part of the official timeline. This an alternate timeline where Piccolo also dies, which means no more Kami. Which leads to the Dragon Balls becoming useless. So there's no wishing our heroes back from the dead. The crux of this story involves time travel to keep the horrible future from ever happening.

Like Terminator but with Super Sayian abilities.

The short film is well put together with a mix of action and plot. This is supposedly part one of what will be a series. Keep in mind that it took them two years to produce the first one. Watch the video below.
