Firefly Studio has released the next set of DLC for their castle siege sim Stronghold Crusader II. The new content introduces The Princess & The Pig, two lieutenants of the main villain The Wolf.

Both AI opponents will approach your destruction differently, but rest assured, they will have their victory over you. The Pig (returning from the original game) is a portly, uneducated brute who will seek to dominate you early and often. He's not the smartest enemy on the battlefield, but do not underestimate him, lest you be on the wrong side of a battle you cannot win. The Pig favors a more traditional castle design, well balanced but with plenty of 'weak' points that, when attacked, turn out to be the castle's strongest feature. He will bait you, tease you, tempt you.
The Princess, on the other hand, solves her problems in that most royal of ways: throwing money at it. When facing her on the sands, be prepared for a quick and nasty assault. She can and will outspend and outbuild you during the early parts of a match, and siege equipment will be first on her list of priorities. Best to counter with high damage and fast charging units like Macemen, Assassins or Knights are important to staving off her early blows.

The two come as part of a new seven-episode mission that will have you fighting against, and sometimes alongside, lieutenants of varying power.
In addition to the paid DLC, Firefly is also offering up a free-to-all update called 'Blow the Horn, Bang the Drum'. "To coincide with the launch of our first Stronghold Crusader 2 DLC, we have released a free update for all players adding a new map pack and improved enemy AI. Dive into new Custom Skirmish and Multiplayer experiences on a set of challenging new maps, in an ultimate test of your prowess on the battlefield. Challenge your friends online or go up against improved enemy Lords, updated with more effective AI when attacking or defending against the player."
