Today at an event in NYC, Samsung revealed the specific prices and sizes for their 2015 TV lineup. They're still absolutely in love with their high end curved SUHD 4k TV models, which will run you all the way up to $9,999, but there are plenty of more options available.
“Combining breathtaking design with technology that provides dazzling color, stark contrasts and superb brightness, our radically new line of SUHD and UHD televisions set a new industry standard for the best picture quality available today,” said Dave Das, Senior Vice President, Samsung Electronics America. “In addition to featuring breakthrough display technology, our 2015 line is powered by our new Smart TV platform that not only brings consumers an intuitive user interface, but also makes it easy to share content between your Samsung mobile devices and 2015 Samsung televisions.”
4K is clearly the only resolution being focused on anymore, and with good reason. They're certainly remarkable and comparing it to a 1080p television shows that there is no comparison, but the big problem lies in the fact that not a lot of content is available to take advantage of them. That being said, if you're looking to upgrade to a TV sometime soon it would absolutely make sense to splurge on a 4K model. The industry is certainly leaning that way with the help of Samsung, which formed the UDH Alliance to encourage content providers such as Netflix and Amazon to already start putting out UHD content.
The Curved SUHD TVs were clearly the highligh of the bunch, offering incredible displays that feature new screen technology that Samsung promises will offer the deepest blacks yet seen on an LED screen, combined with unmatched brightness to offer a so-called "new category of TV". That will come at a price, though. Here are the four upocoming SUHD TVs:
