New CCG World Of Tanks Generals Comes To iOS; Sign Up Now For The Closed Beta On iPad

Wargaming has announced the start of the World of Tanks Generals closed beta test for iOS iPad devices today.

Not content to simply dominate the tank based combat market (there are a surprising amount of tank games out there), Wargaming is hoping to roll over the CCG market like the Blitzkrieg. The browser based version of the beta has been live for a month now.

"Our main goal with Closed Beta is to evolve the game into the incredible experience we're aiming for," said Andrey Zimenko, Director of Global Operations, World of Tanks Generals said about the PC version. "We've put a lot of effort into the game and are looking forward to seeing how testers like the current version, as well as hear their ideas and suggestions about the game's future."

Generals features over 200 cards split amongst three factions: the US, Germany and the Soviet Union. Command tanks, headquarters, tanks, artillery, orders and squads, as well as special bonus cards that grant additional firepower or defenses to strike, retreat and ultimately, win.

The closed beta is available on iPad 2 or later generation devices. No word on when and if an Android version will be arriving. The game supports cross platform play. So you can switch between devices at will.

Sign up for both betas at the official site. Or, if you're like me and lacking a properly powerful iPad, there's always World of Tanks Blitz, the incredibly fun mobile version of the game that started it all.
