Indiana may be having its share of convention and geek-related problems, but next door Illinois has its doors wide open. The Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (YSC), the prolific CCG's most storied tournament, will be held in The Prairie State next week.

Veterans, newcomvers and fans alike can flock to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL - about twenty minutes outside of Downtown Chicago from April 11 and 12 for their chance to win one of the rarest of cards in the game, Ascension Sky Dragon.

Consider the YCS Chicago an incubator of sorts for live game-testing as Duelists unveil brand new strategies and Decks. Duelists will need to devote extra attention to see how the inclusion of the new cards from these products impacts the YCS standings! It's always fun to get in on the new action right from the get-go, to blaze forth a path to strategy before the guides and cheats proliferate online.
"Pre-registration for YCS Chicago will run from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10 and registration will continue promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11. Upon registering, Duelists will receive five Secrets of Eternity booster packs for participating in KONAMI's YCS Chicago.
Round One will start at 10:00 a.m. and the top ranked YCS finishers will earn invitations to participate in the 2015 World Championship Qualifier. Players will use their constructed Decks until the Top 16 are determined, then the Top 16 Duelists will draft cards from Battle Pack 3: Monster League and will use Decks built solely from this product to compete for the Championship."
Additionally, a full range of other Public Events such as Regional Qualifiers, 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling, ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Win-A-Mat (a new format that reduces the total number of summons), Battle Pack, and Battle City Tournaments will be held through the weekend.
