'Warhammer 40,000: Regicide' Release Date Fast Approaching, Pricing Finally Detailed For The Violent 40K Game Of Chess

Marine To Ork 6: 'Warhammer 40,000: Regicide' Gets A Release Window And Pricing Details

Two months after they began the pre-order process, Hammerfall Publishing has announced that Warhammer 40,000: Regicide will be made available to the masses in the coming weeks.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin Available Now Everywhere!

Regicide is an updated version of the classic Battle Chess that pits the Imperial Space Marines against the Orkish horde in a game that relies not merely on strength, but strategy. This certainly isn't your old man's chess, unless his version of the game involved chainswords and grenades.

The game will be priced at $14.99 over on Steam Early Access. No specific date has been given, but Hammerfall says "in the coming weeks".

The Wonderful Bastion Is Now On PS4 And You Should Get It

Warhammer 40,000: Regicide features Hammerfall's own Cortex Artificial Intelligence system, which we hope is at least marginally better than me at chess, and can engage in three modes: Regicide, whose details are not yet known, Single player against the computer and multiplayer, where no doubt every one of your opponent's will be a young Bobby Fisher.

"Once your blades are blooded, Classic mode features hundreds of dynamic kill and death animations between detailed characters in incredible environments. This is presented in straight-up Warhammer 40,000 combat strategy with two playable races: the iconic Space Marines and brutal Orks."

Players who are active members on the Regicide forums will be eligible for special in game rewards. So keep posting.

In the meantime, there's always February's trailer to sate your need both for a near infinite number of moves and supreme, bloody violence. A gentleman's game, this is most assuredly not. Check it out below.
