'Halo Online' Video Surfaces, Watch Gameplay Of The Russia-Only Shooter Here

Video has surfaced of PC title Halo Online, the Russia-only title that plays like a modified version of Halo 3.

343 only released the title in Russia, but modders have gotten their hands on a version and uploaded their findings, Polygon reports. The video below comes from the GamingPranks YouTube account, and gives us about 5 minutes of Halo Online gameplay.

The title is essentially something like Halo 3 if it ever made it to PC (Microsoft stated it's running a version of Halo 3's engine), but with several changes. It looks very fast-paced, and there are target markers over opponents. This Reddit thread where the video was posted discusses some of the gameplay, and the difficulties of playing in its current form.

The game is free to play for Russians, with incentives to pay money to customize their Spartans. Halo Online is only multiplayer as you may expect, and appears to be in development stage--there are no rankings, or even medals.

Hackers got their hands on a copy last week and uploaded a toolkit that allowed players to access the game, but Microsoft removed it from the web citing copyright law. There are no plans for it to launch elsewhere at this time.
