Eyes Wide Games has announced an Apple Watch baseball title, Watch This Homerun, exclusively for Apple's new wearable.

The game will arrive later this month, and features one-touch baseball action for the watch's tiny interface. On the surface, a simplified one-touch game makes perfect sense for swinging a bat at a ball--hopefully that's the experience delivered.
"We've seen where Apple Watch is going, and it's clear that giving sports fans and gamers fast and easy ways to plug into their favorite pastimes anytime will be a defining feature of the platform," said Eyes Wide Games CEO Stephen Griffin. "With Watch This Homerun, we're distilling the complete baseball experience down to its greatest hits in a form players can enjoy in just 10-15 seconds on the go."

The player will take control of the batter as a variety of pitches are hurled his or her way, trying to knock as many balls out of the park as possible within a set amount of time. This bite-sized score-chasing game fits the on-the-go nature of the watch, in theory. For more long-term progress, though, the iPhone companion app offers competitive leaderboards, achievements, and stat tracking to compare against friends and the community. Eyes Wide Games says this will be the first in a series of one-touch sports titles for Apple Watch. The studio plans games for soccer, football, basketball and more.
