'Warhammer 40,000: Regicide' Gameplay Video Shows Off Unit Progression, Motion Captured Animations [VIDEO]
The endless march of Warhammer titles goes marching on, this time with another look at Warhammer 40,000 Regicide.
The developers have released a new "first look" video for the chess-like game, showing off some of its features and discussing the talent that's helping create the title.
The first reveal video talked more about the general gameplay, but part two (below) shows off some movement animations and discusses how you'll upgrade both the appearance and abilities of your units. The unit aesthetics will change to represent improvements and reflect your new upgrades, while fully motion-captured animations will play out the battles in front of you.
There are several voice actors and writers you may recognize from the series working on the game, so check out the footage to hear more about the team. The Warhammer franchise has spread to a variety of genres and has been licensed for some exciting projects, but this sounds among the most unique and interesting titles.
Warhammer 40,000: Regicide is currently in Early Access via Steam. It's set for release later this year, and has cross-play capabilities between PC and mobile. This allows you to save and continue progress between systems depending on how you can play at any given time. The game will feature a full campaign as well as offline play against AI.
