Destiny Receives Patch 2.0 In Preparation For The Taken King Expansion

Bungie has finally released an update patch for online shooter Destiny and preparation of its biggest expansion so far, The Taken King, which will be launched on September 15. The patch is uncommonly huge at 18GB on PS4 and Xbox One while the PS3 and Xbox 360 will get it at 30GB, in weight.

According to reports, the heavy patch will bring tons of changes that will mold how Destiny will be played in the future, and will also open up every Destiny player to a week-long preview of the upcoming multiplayer content which will take off in The Taken King expansion.

The two multiplayer modes, which are coined Rift and Mayhem, will add more adventure to the successful Sony produced online shooting game. Rift will showcase a capture the flag style gameplay while Mayhem will increase the recharge of super abilities. On top of the new game modes, the Taken King expansion will also introduce 8 new maps, which will also be introduced in the week-long preview.

In addition, the new experience system will bring huge changes in the game by refocusing the often criticized Light system into a simpler and easier to understand game system. Previously, the game requires the players to use specific weapons and armors in order to achieve a higher level, but the improvement will not allow gamers to unlock higher levels by gaining experience.

Also, starting on September 9, the game will hold the Armsday event which will take place weekly, which will showcase the game's popular gunsmith Banshee-44 providing players weapons and giving them tasks which in return will give the players reputation with Banshee, which will lead into unlocking more powerful weapons.

There will be a new Quest system which will allow players to track quests easier on top of increased bounty loots. Destiny's expansion, The Taken King will be available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360.
