Assetto Corsa Making Its Way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Assetto Corsa is a fan favourite among PC driving simulators, but it has been rumoured that this game will apparently be available in other consoles as well. Now, that rumour has 'officially' been confirmed. The legendary racing video game is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on April 22, featuring the Ferrari FXX-K on its cover.

For those not versed with the language, Assetto Corsa is Italian for racing setup, and the game is exactly what its name implies. Players now have the ability to tune more than 90 vehicles in the game to suit their racing styles. Some of the high-performance cars in the game include the Team Lotus 98T, the Ferrari LaFerrari, the Pagani Zonda R, the McLaren 650S GT3 and the Mercedes C9. All these are famous cars from this era, and players can practically build their own car too. Driver attributes and collision settings are now customisable as well to match every player's preferences.

Assetto Corsa will feature 20 track configurations and more famous tracks like those of Monza, Silverstone and Nürburgring. The good news is that it is available for preorder from various places; however, it wasn't revealed if there will be any bonuses.

In a technical sense, the game aims to produce at least 60 frames per second on both consoles. What this means in the actual game is that the action should be smooth and free flowing, allowing a player to breeze through corners rather than stutter through. It also allows players to react more quickly and decisively when the car steps overshoots. We don't know if this will make us better drivers. But we're sure as hell happy that this guarantees us no frame skips during the game.

If you've been following the game's development since the beginning, you will be happy to hear that the console edition will be released with all of the downloadable content that PC players had to shell out cash for. This includes Brands Hatch, the classic Lotus Grand Prix cars and the Nordschleife.
