The Atari Vault Collection Will Feature 100 Classic Atari Games Via Steam

Lately, it has been imminent that games are bought just because of great graphics, realism, complex gameplay and high fps. We have been forgetting the original essence of gaming--the countless hours of mindless fun, the simple yet challenging gameplay and visual appeal that doesn't rely on graphics alone. Some excellent games and programs eventually became forgotten and buried in our heads. Technology advances, while those classic games and apps got lost over time.

If you're dying to relive the era of the Atari on your modern PC, then we've got great news for you--Atari will soon release 100 classic games on Steam for you to experience a whole new level of nostalgia.

The Atari Vault collection will be the best venue for gamers to experience those days once again. Atari was once a legend in the video game industry. It is a bit sad that the company rarely makes the headlines lately, but there is no question that it was one of the best on the years of its reign. You will now be able to play games from the '70s and '80s through the Atari Vault, a collection of 100 retro games available via the Steam platform. As of now, it's being developed by Code Mystics and will feature classic titles such as "Centipede," "Missile Command," "Asteroids" and "Warlords." It will launch this spring and will feature local and online multiplayer, Steam leaderboards and even Steam controller support.

The pricing hasn't been confirmed yet, so we'll have to wait for an official announcement. The Atari Vault package will be sold as a bundle, so one purchase will get you all 100 games.

It will feature a lot of updates; however, the original soundtracks will be kept intact. The idea presented by the company is to let modern gamers "relive the classic gaming experience in the modern age."
