iPhone Fix: Here's How to Use Dish Network's Smart Phone Repair Program

You may feel it's your worst day ever, but fixing a broken iPhone is business for Dish Network's technicians, and they're ready to repair right from your doorstep. Yes, through the satellite TV provider's Smart Phone Repair program, you can call for help when the unfortunate happens.

The service is available to anyone in the United States, Macworld reports, seven days a week. One does not need to be a Dish TV subscriber to get a repair, which usually takes less than an hour. They can replace worn-out batteries and broken screens, which cost $40 and $130 - $150, respectively. The service call costs $35, applicable to multiple phones. Appointments can be made in two-hour windows, with options such as same-day and next-day repair available.

John Swieringa, executive vice president of operations, expressed the Dish advantage, "Fixing your phone shouldn't mean losing your phone for days on end, so we come to you - whether you're at the office, the gym or even the coffee shop."

The company also clarified a warranty set-up, "Dish offers appointments seven days a week including same-day and next-day availability, and guarantees all repair work with a 60-day warranty." Users are expected to trust its fleet of repair personnel as it promises use of only "high-quality replacement parts" cominf from "respected" third parties, Fortune quotes.

Repairs are currently available for iPhones 5 to 6 Plus, The Verge notes, which means newer (iPhone 6s duo) and older models are not covered. However, more devices are expected to be serviceable under the program, the Android species for instance. Technicians are also expected to sell cases, screen protectors and other accessories. During the visit, they may help out with satellite servicing.

Users still covered by Apple's warranty period may best stick to the Apple Store, since screen repair costs the same for most, Macworld advises. It is important to note that any work Dish does to your handset will remove your warranty with Apple.
