Players of first-person shooter game "Destiny" are at the edge of their seats for two big reasons. First, a major expansion is expected to arrive this year, following the likes of "The Dark Below," "House of Wolves" and "The Taken King." Second, "Destiny 2" is on its way. While a specific date is yet to be known, Activision has already confirmed that the sequel will arrive next year.
In contrast to its release of paid DLC packs in 2015, "Destiny" recently went for small and free events, Forbes says, so the idea of a "large new expansion" is certainly exciting to prospects. It is likely that the new DLC sees target consoles in spring, the outlet believes.
While we can't be certain about the hype over this expansion, figures reveal that more and more people are playing "Destiny." It has been reported that the game enjoys nearly 30 million players, a step-up from 25 million back in November.
Meanwhile, melee issues in Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3 are scheduled to be fixed today, Express reports. There will be no more download necessary, as the fix has been installed in an earlier update. Sandbox Engineer Jon Cable said, "If the melee lunge didn't get you close enough to the target, or if the target was moving away from you, your melee would not connect. The new fix should make Arc Blade and Shoulder Charge much more reliable. There are still situations - especially when the target is moving away from you - where you will not connect."
A new glitch has also been discovered recently. As it turns out, players are able to lower their weapons out of theit point of view, GameRant notes. Through this glitch and the disabling of the game's HUD, recording whole footage is now possible. Because there are no more screen distractions, this combo makes excellent screenshots.
Those on the lookout for "Destiny 2" may have heard the game will launch as "Destiny 2: The Shattered Suns," though this must be taken with a grain of salt. The sequel is originally set to hit consoles in September 2016, GamesRadar recalls. Some expectations on the next installment include character and progress transfers, as well as concentration in the story of Osiris. Osiris is said to be a warlock exiled to a temple on Mercury. Though he has vanished, he was able to attrack followers on his exile, leaving a network that continues his unfinished business.
