'Maize' First-Person Puzzler Takes Gaming With Sentient Corn To A Strange Level; Release Date, Gameplay & Other Details

'Maize' First-Person Puzzler Takes Gaming With Sentient Corn To A Strange Level;

The world of gaming has become stranger as another wild concept is created. 'Maize', a gaming experience involving a Sentient Corn, has just been released.

The game was created by Finish Line Games. It is a first-person experience that started when two scientists misinterpreted a memo they got from the U.S. government and ended up creating a Sentient Corn, as described in Maize's main site. It is said that this is only the start of the game's absurdity.

On gameplay, the player is tasked to learn what the talking corn wants. One task is to have fewer crows. Another is to deal with a secret underground research facility. Players are also able to explore the surroundings of the farm. Limited information is available and it is too soon to describe the complete gameplay, Engadget reported.

The game is described as attention catching. It is an absurdist game that involves a cornucopia of intellectual puzzles to solve. Players need to expect various talking oddities and characters, which obviously starts with the talking corn. Also, a lot of mysteries are to be harvested by future gamers, usually unveiling the story behind the game itself.

Finish Line Games elaborated that Maize is inspired by Monty Python. It also takes from some of "The X-Files" comical episodes. Some say that this may be a red flag, though Monty Python is great, it is also half a decade old. Fresher concepts are expected by not. Also, the name dropped game is associated with lazy slapstick absurdity.

Other than the main character, Sentient Corn, players will also encounter a grumpy Russian version of Teddy Ruxpin, PC Gamer reported.

That is all the information available to date, but curious gamers are to expect trailers, teaser, spoilers, videos and pictures from Finisih Line in the coming months. The previous project of Finish Line Games, which is an HD remake of Cel Damage in 2001, does not give insight into what the new game is about.

Speculation is that the game may be a first-person comedy because of its absurd nature. Another possibility is the game's similarity to "Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and the Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist".Or it could be both, but for sure it has something different to offer, PC Gamer said.

Even if the game makers provided only a short description about the game, they did supply some stunning visuals for interested gamers. It is scheduled to be released this fall.
