Just nine months after of the release of Orcs Must Die, Plano-based Robot Entertainment has released Orcs Must Die 2. It is a strategy video game published by Microsoft Studios.
The strategy video game published by Microsoft Studios is not a terribly rushed out game, but sort of a sequel with many of the originals retained. The cornerstone being tower defense game with a third-person shooter, lets players control the battle flow. But Orcs Must Die 2 has an added feature, it comes with co-op, and only on PC.
The developers of Age of Empires Online have always made their art light-hearted without coming off as silly with well-designed static cut scenes,
Orcs Must Die 2 has beautifully balanced a third-person action with tower defense. So you will be free to use your hands killing Orcs but also reminds us to set up traps constantly, to keep us busy.
If missions are performed well and as you complete them, you can earn "skulls." Earning skulls will unlock many new traps (turrets), player weapons, player bonuses, player weapons, player weapons etc. After some time, you can tailor your character to your taste and style.
What is disappointing however, is despite the new character, new co-op, and new maps, the rest of the game is almost exactly the same as the first installment, down to the soundtrack. It would have been really good if the developers could have come up with newer content.
The game seems to be to "co-op-ish," as players move up the ladder into difficult levels the maps of the game are designed to help the co-op player, which is rather disappointing, since you need to have a partner with the game who can join in for the campaigns.
The game is fun and a great way to pass the time. This game is gleefully gory allowing you to kill as many Orcs as possible.
And for $15, it's something you cannot ignore.
