Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring, an Underrated Fighting Game

Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring was 1998 game released by Square co. which is now Square Enix. It was a 3D fighting game. It was included in PlayStation Network in 2008.

It was a game that was built for the future and no one seems to know about it, despite the game being better than most fighting games we see today. The game is a must have for any Final Fantasy 7 fans as it includes characters from Final Fantasy 7.

This is a fast-paced and very entertaining game, with smooth combat which is easy to learn. It has better animations, well polished which is a rarity in the fighting games we find now.

The game does not have a tutorial mode so we have to learn everything on our own. But you will loose no time to kill your enemy with meteorains.

The game features Cloud, Tifa, and Sephiroth. It also has a wide range of original characters. The characters' fighting moves are powerful with very fun-to-use fighting styles.

The game also has three secret unlockable characters including Vincent Valentine, Yuffie Kisaragi, and Zack Fair.

Reminding us of Blizzard's Diablo, there is quest mode with an easy dungeon crawl. The game does not make the grades in this gameplay where the developers of the game, DreamFactory force us to take up the character of a muscle-bound archaeological professor or his bubbly girlfriend instead of the various funny characters that are in the game. The dungeon seems to be never ending though. The quest mode is a "Hack and Slash" Action RPG styled gameplay.

The game has a pretty huge fan following in Japan, but in the U.S. it got mixed reviews. This game is highly addictive if you try playing it.

The game has an aggregate score of 75 percent on GamesRanking.
