iPhone 7 Release Date, Specs, News & Update: Possible Lightning To 3.5 mm Adapter Spotted For Apple Smartphone

The past days have been filled with iPhone 7 rumors, mostly the ones which haven’t been heard of before. For folks who have however skimmed through all of this before, many may be aware of that rumor involving the 3.5 mm iteration which drew varying reactions.

The removal of the 3.5 mm jack for the iPhone 7 will mean that folks who user their devices for media enjoyment will have to find some other way to listen to them privately or blaringly via the iconic input. Among the likely solutions include a shift to Bluetooth headsets or seeing Apple arm the new iPhone 7 units with included Lightning port-tipped earphones.

Lighhtning adapters to the rescue

For the Apple consumer, most are aware that adapters can somehow resolve that issue. China, aware of the rumors tied up to this change have started to conceptualize on accessories and one of them include this Lightning to 3.5 mm adapter from Macotakara.

A visit to the Macotakara site also reveals other potential accessories that include that Lightning earbuds whose change was at the end (Lightning tip). This could be a solution for people wanting a piece that can easily connect and avoid the ‘bulkiness’ that adapters will come with.

Nostalgia or practicality?

For the ones who have been attached to their traditional 3.5 mm earphones for one reason or another, these accessories could make sense. But then again, there are some who would prefer to ditch that (at least for the iPhone 7) and shed a couple of dollars for a new one.

As for the Lightning adapter, getting one could be sensible though some may be uncomfortable traveling with unnecessary accessories.

Regardless, Apple is expected to include some proper earphones with the next iPhone 7 anyway so these accessories are just alternatives for people who don’t want some of their old (and likely expensive) headphones to go to waste.
