2K Sports announces Indiana Pacer star Paul George is new cover athlete for NBA 2k17. He will be joining Kobe Bryant as one of the featured players in the game.

The right fit for the bill?

Earlier this year, 2k Sports revealed that Kobe Bryant is going to be featured in "NBA 2k17" on its "Legend Edition." Could it be just a coincidence that a player who has been idolizing Bryant his whole life would be chosen as the cover athlete of the regular "NBA 2k17" version?

Guess not! Paul George has "NBA superstar" written all over him. He's a three time NBA All-Star, has All-NBA Third Team and All-Defensive Second Team merits all under his belt. Aside from that, he is also an inspiration, coming back from a gruesome leg injury, working his way back into All-Star form and finally having one of the best returning performances in the NBA.

Why 'NBA 2k17' is a big deal?

In the past versions of the game in recent memory, it was always multiple cover athletes that were featured. From Anthony Davis, Stephen Curry and James Harden in "NBA 2k16" to Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose and Blake Griffin in "NBA 2k13."

Giving the solo limelight on Paul George for this year's serving of the 2K Sports massive hit video game is a cool honour for George who's reported to be a big fan of the "NBA 2k" franchise. What also makes this game a big deal is that it is coming off a massive hit from "NBA 2k16." Last year's installment of the game is one of the most successful serving of the "NBA 2k" series and, for sure, there's a lot of pressure to make "NBA 2k17" even better.
