Nintendo NX Release Date Rumors, News & Update: Game Console Delayed, VR Feature Added? [POLL, VIDEO]

There is a lot on the shoulders of Nintendo with its upcoming NX game console, something that was previously pointed out here via recent post.

Critics are pinning their hopes of a big change brought about by the Nintendo NX game console though it may take more than the upcoming gaming console to improve the faltering numbers in the gaming sector.

Though Nintendo is not really pressured with this billing, the Japanese company is cautious before unveiling a new player in the gaming market. And this is perhaps the reason why the company has opted to forego E3 and push back the launch date of the Nintendo NX.

DIGITimes offers an interesting explanation on why the Nintendo NX was a no-show at the E3 convention where areas such as production and game console iteration may have been the cause.

On one end, the mass production for the Nintendo NX saw its original production date (mid-2016) moved to early 2017 that included whittled down production orders from 20 million to just 9 to 10 million units. Aside from that, here is an interesting take to ponder on:

“Nintendo wished to enhance the game console’s video-game/handheld-game-integrated gaming experience and add virtual reality (VR) function into the system to gain advantages in the upcoming video game and mobile game competitions.”

Be reminded that these are rumors and are not totally official. While it may be an answer on why the delay took place, it remains that Nintendo seems to be following the trend of most consoles – that of which is incorporating a ‘virtual reality’ feature similar to the ones offered by Microsoft (for the Xbox series) and Sony (for the PlayStation series).

In a way, the rumors make sense though they remain unofficial. Nintendo is unlikely to reach and keep awaiting Nintendo NX consumers waiting. But the question now is would adding a VR feature and whittling down the production capacity be a wise move?
