'Yooka-Laylee' Release Moved To 2017 But E3 2016 Appearance Confirmed [Watch Trailer]

Recent news revealed that the “Yooka-Laylee” release will be delayed by a few months. However, gamers will be delighted to know that the game will be featured at E3 2016 in June.

Playtonic Games recently launched the trailer before the “Yooka-Laylee” release. The 3D platformer gamewill be featured for the first time at E3 2016, which will happen from June 14 to 16, 2016 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Gematsu noted that the “Yooka-Laylee” release will star partners Yooka and Layee. The two characters will show a wide array of special abilities and moves as they explore and expand the three-dimensional worlds. They will come across treasures and collectibles, meet and interact with other characters, and unlock secrets.

According to Playtonic, the “Yooka-Laylee” release window has been properly set in the first quarter of 2017 on gaming consoles and PC. Previously, the game developer announced that the game will launch in October 2015.

Playtonic explained that they made the hard choice of locking the release of the game to Q1 2017, after discussing with fans and dealing among themselves. They realized that fans put a lot of value in the quality and polish of the game more than anything, so they decided to set the release date back by a few months to work on the details more.

Gavin Price, Playtonic creative director and MD stated in a press release that they were initially confident that they could have a “Yooka-Laylee” release in October as they originally intended, but the team ultimately decided that they wanted a few extra months to polish the game.

As a result, they will provide a better game to all the fans who continued to show support throughout the development process. They understand that there will be some who will be disappointed by the delay, but the team is confident that they made the right choice and that everyone will be pleased with the outcome when the 3D platformer arrives early in 2017.

PCGamer wrote that in the meantime, fans of the “Yooka-Laylee” release can look forward to attending E3 2016, since Playtonic will be showcasing the game. The developer stated that they will continue to update fans in the months leading up to the launch.
