NBA 2K13: Kinect Allows Users to Swear

NBA 2K13 will let you swear into the Kinect sensor.

The feature was first attempted by developers of FIFA 13, but they couldn't fit the cussing within the rules of the game.

Developers of NBA 2K13 found a loophole since the technical foul rule in basketball let you swear. Basketball allows for a bench technical foul, where a player on the bench or coaching staff may be chided for unsportsman-like conduct. You will get T'd up if you yell at the officiating staff, but the foul will not affect anyone on the court said Jon Robinson of ESPN.

Unlike soccer, in NBA 2K12, you can slip without being severely punished. In FIFA 13, the developers fiddled with giving yellow cards to an offside call but it did not work as the referee will not know whom to book and two yellows will make player go home with a red with the team a man down.

Though FIFA 13 abandoned the booking aspect, if you swear the commentators will notice this and your treatment by the referee will not be favorable. In basketball if the coach or a player commits two technical fouls, then they will be out of the game but the team will still be playing full strength.

Baseball video games have included ejections for pitchers who repeatedly hit batters, but managers are safe, unlike in the real game where the manager who commits a foul is warned, ejected and even fined.

As in soccer where penalty is a severe thing, in basketball it is not. Ronnie Sing, 2K Sports social media director and community head said "we fought hard" to get technical fouls in the game since NBA was adamant on not having this in the game.

Can we expect this feature in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, and Madden?
