Ubisoft Sends Stern Warning To Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Cheaters

Ubisoft is cracking the whip as it intends to implement permanent bans on cheaters and hackers who violate the code of conduct for “Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege” game.

The recently update code of conduct was relayed through a post via the official “Rainbow Six Siege” blog which calls for the permanent ban on exploiters starting from their very first offense. The company emphasizes that they are taking the cheating or hacking issue seriously which sends out a chilly warning to the ones who are up to no good.

But how does Ubisoft categorize cheating or hacking? Per IGN, cheaters or hackers are “players running modified or "otherwise unauthorized" versions of the game client which provide "any sort of unfair advantage or causes "detriment to other players' experience."

The decision may seem a bit harsh for players but the good news is that Ubisoft will tackle cases separately. Some may end up getting a temporary ban though that would depend on the scenario and as decided upon by the developer.

To pin down cheaters, Ubisoft makes use of “FairFight”, a server-side anti-cheat engine that weeds out players who are caught cheating. Aside from that, Ubisoft is also testing other client-side anti-cheat options which could be applied in the future.

The ramp-up on the code of conduct by Ubisoft is seen as a recourse following issues of cheating tied up to another game, “Tom Clancy’s The Division”. A system was also put in place to crack down on erring players for that game as well.

Ubisoft seems to be following the lead of Blizzard who banned thousands of players for cheating for their game “Overwatch."

As far as “Rainbow Six Siege” is concerned, Ubisoft is urging players to report erring players via the report button or through Ubisoft support.
