'Prey' E3 2016 News & Updates: Debut Trailer Confirms New Title Not A Sequel

A new "Prey" has finally been announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016. The new Bethesda title was introduced on Sunday through a stunning trailer, and it looks even better than the original!

There have been rumors of a "Prey" sequel a few years back. Unfortunately, the first sequel was cancelled by Bethesda two years ago.

Fans of "Prey" also believed that there would be a "completely reworked" version of the sequel will be revealed at E3 2016 (via Gamespot). It certainly looks like they were on to something back then.

The "Prey" E3 2016 trailer follows the protagonist named Morgan as he goes about his business in the year 2032. However, things are not what they seem.

"Prey" director Rafael Colantonio also revealed some updates during a post-press conference at E3 2016 (via Gamespot). He confirmed that the new title is "a re-imagining of the IP," stating that it is neither a remake nor a sequel. But just how different is the new "Prey" to the original?

During his E3 2016 interview, Rafael Colantonio also explained that "Prey" is not a mission-based title. Instead, players will be able to explore a large area to get further in the game.

In addition to that, players have the option to choose a male or female character. This means you do not need to be Morgan during your "Prey" gameplay.

The original "Prey" was released back in 2006. The debut of the new "Prey" is certainly a welcome relief for fans who have been waiting for a new title for almost 10 years.

There is no word yet on which platforms the new "Prey" will be available in. However, it is possible that the new title will be available for PC and Xbox One. In the meantime, enjoy the "Prey" E3 2016 trailer below.
