GoPro Inc., hit it well with the action camera market with its array of products through the years. Unfortunately the company is trying to weather financial troubles which may hopefully be addressed with the GoPro Hero 5.
The GoPro Hero 5 release has already been delayed and such could render positive and negative repercussions. It could be positive in the sense that potential buyers could be in for a top quality device made near to perfection.
The bad side of it is consumer anticipation resulting from the long wait for GoPro Hero 5. Hence, it all depends on whether the latest action camera from GoPro has something different that will once again push it along the ranks of top-end of the action camera segment.
Company will make or break with the GoPro Hero 5
Given that both scenarios are likely already in play, a lot is riding on the performance of the GoPro Hero 5. With the company currently in financial dire straits, the GoPro Hero 5 and the Karma Drone are seen as two potential lifesavers.
According to a piece by Longbow Research analyst Joe Wittine on Value Walk, GoPro can see a turn for the good if the new products are able to spice up demand by the second half of 2016. Of the two products mentioned, Wittine believes that it is the GoPro Hero 5’s reputation that will be key.
What is there to look forward to with the GoPro Hero 5?
So far, the word is that the GoPro Hero 5 will be having the same set of features as its predecessor, the GoPro Hero 4. But there are rumors as well from sites like HNGN, that the GoPro Hero 5 will be built for more rugged conditions.
If so, this means that the GoPro Hero 5 can come in handy to even harsher environments with the intent of taking higher resolution photos and videos (4K?). Though it is something expected, seeing it up close is still important.
There is no official GoPro Hero 5 release date for now though it could happen by November per Crossmap.
