Madden NFL 13 fans will not get a White House special Super Bowl post game, which was a feature for the past couple of years reports Kotaku. President Barack Obama will not be featured in Madden 13.
Elections will be held on Nov. 6 and Super Bowl XLVII will be held on Feb. 3, 2013. Game developers decided not to take the risk.
"So there's a matter of authenticity, Kotaku said.
Inclusion of President Obama will politicize the game, which is purely apolitical. In an election year, it might create needless controversy.
"Republicans enjoy the NFL and buy video games, too," said Kotaku.
But game developer 2K Sports, will be including the White House championship ceremony that will feature President Obama for the NBA Finals winners.
"Right now Obama is still in the game in the same manner he was in 2K12," said spokesman for 2K Sports.
NBA 2K12 was released in October of last year. Sales of the game reached 4 million units on April 2012. EA Sports' Madden 13 will be out Aug. 28. It will be the newest in the Madden NFL series. Detroit Loin's Calvin "Megatron" Johnson is featured in the cover of the game. The game will feature high-dynamic range lighting and motion blur. Tackle and pass animations have been improved from the previous game. Commentators are Jim Nanz and Phil Simms.
