It's been just a few months since the release of the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display, but rumors of a newer, sleeker MacPro model hitting the market have begun to swirl.
A new 13-inch MacBook Pro laptop with retina display is reportedly under production according to CNET. Indications are strong that the release of this new MacBook Pro will happen this fall.
Richard Shim, analyst at NPD DisplaySearch said to CNET that Apple has begun production for 2,560-by-1,600 pixel density display on a 13.3-inch MacBook Pro.
"The supply chain indications are that it's for a MacBook Pro 13.3 -- not a MacBook Air," he said. "With 15.4 it's production of a few hundred thousand units versus one to two million for the 13.3."
Shim said that production volume of 13-inch MacBook Pro is higher when compared to the current 15.4-inch Retina MacBook Pro.
"With Samsung, if you look at the new [Retina] iPad, they had fewer issues reaching the higher resolution requests from Apple," he said. "They were the first vendor to get to volume with that panel."
Apple's Retina displays an amazing number of pixels over a small area, its 15.4-inch MacBook Pro gives out 2,880-by-1,800 pixel density. This is much higher than any PC laptop said CNET. It also said that the 13-inch model will have a cheaper price, below $2,199.
