Apple vs. Samsung Lawsuit: Apple Must Wait to December 6 for Verdict on Ban of 8 Samsung Devices

Apple will not be able to capitalize on the newly gained victory over Samsung over patent infringements. At least not yet.

Apple moved for a permanent injunction against Samsung asking for a sales ban of eight Samsung handhelds that includes Galaxy S2. Samsung's latest handheld, Galaxy S3 is not part of the ban.

The San Jose court jury was scheduled to hear Apple's injunction request on Sept. 20 but the injunction hearing was moved to Dec. 6.

U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh passed an order on Tuesday that said "due to the scope of Apple's preliminary injunction request, she believed it was 'appropriate' that various post-trial motions be consolidated," reported Reuters.

The court will be hearing Samsung's request to dissolve the sales ban that was imposed on Galaxy Tab 10.1. Attorneys from both sides have to file detailed legal arguments before the injunction hearing reported Reuters.

Samsung and Apple were not available for comments. There was a rise of 3 present on Tuesday as the news came out on that there will be delay in the hearing.

Samsung shares reached their lowest since October 2008 on Monday as a result of the verdict. The San Jose jury on Friday awarded Apple more than $1 billion in damages, which Samsung has to pay as a fine for infringing on patents of Apple.
