'Justice League' Movie Rumors: Director Search Continues Brett Ratner Next?

The search for a director for Warner Bros./DC Comics movie "Justice League" continues.

Rumor mills are running strong as to who will slide into the directors chair. At first it seemed Ben Affleck was the leading contender, but the A-list actor/director said that he was never approached and was actually working on other projects.

"I'm not working on the 'Justice League,'" Affleck told 24 Hours Vancouver. "One of the problems with entertainment web sites is that they need to fill pages, and that's how rumours get started. Justice League sounds really exciting, but it's not something I'm working on."

We all already know that Christopher Nolan had already said he will not be a part of the project.

Deadline reported that David Yates was offered the job but he too passed it off and instead is focusing on a Tarzan movie for Warner Bros. Well next came of the report that Wachowskis, Lana and Andy, were contenders, according to MovieHole and Warner Bros. were "completely jazzed" about it.

The Superman Super Site reports that along with Wachowskis, Warner Bros. seem to have taken Brett Ratner into consideration. Ratner is known for directing the Rush Hour franchise, starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.

"The studio is very pleased with the work that Brett [Ratner] has done as a producer and director on past projects," states Superman Super Site's sources. "They are now very interested in seeing what he can do with helping finally bring this group of iconic superheroes to the big screen!"

Ratner has experience directing the superhero movies as he directed "X-Men - The Last Stand" and was supposed to direct "Superman Returns."

There is a possibility of Ratner being tied up with the fourth edition of Rush Hour franchise, which will see production in 2013 and have 2014 as release date.

There has been no official word from Warner Bros. and hence this is all just speculation.
