Windows 8 is firing up innovation among PC makers, with major PC companies announcing new laptops and tablets hybrids.
HP announced that it will be unveiling new Windows 8 Ultrabooks which is touchscreen capable.
HP Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook is a high end Ultrabook with a 15.6-inch touchscreen display with resolution of 1,920x1,080, it's 0.7-inch thick, it has IPS technology and Intel Thunderbolt technology, an optional solid-state-drive, edge-to-edge glass all-metal design and has a soft-touch base.
It's powered by Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, has dual USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet port, and HDMI port. This Ultrabook will be available in U.S. markets in December and will cost $1,399.
HP Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4, has backlit keyboard, has a 14-inch multitouch HD display with 1,366x768 resolution. It weights 4.77 pounds and is 23 mm thin. It also has Beats Audio and an optional AMD graphics card with 2GB memory. This Ultrabook is expected to be released some time between October to December. The price has not been released.
HP Envy x2 has a detachable screen, a docking keyboard with a touchpad too. It has a 11.6-inch HD touch screen, aluminium casing, weighs 3.1 pounds, it is powered by Intel's third-generation processors and a 64GB SSD.
The keyboard has separate battery that gives over eight hours of battery life. It also has a front facing camera and an 8MP camera on the rear. It also supports a NFC technology where users can share content to other NFC-enabled devices with just a tap. Pricing and release date for Envy x2 has not been announced.
