"The Originals" Season 4 is due for release in 2017, and there are rumors that Danielle Campbell will return to the show to reprise her character.
Campbell played the role of Davina, a powerful teenage witch, but her character died in the previous season; however, there are hints that she will probably return to life. On the other hand, Leah Pipes, who played the character Camille, is definitely not returning.
Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who is Davina's foster father was stricken with grief by her death. He blamed Mikaelson clan and punished Niklaus (Joseph Morgan), Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies). He put Klaus in a coma and the rest were killed.
Fortunately, Freya (played by Riley Voekel) was able to conjure a spell that enabled them to escape death by linking their lives to Klaus. They are safe as long as he is alive, otherwise, they shall share the same fate.
The show's executive producer, Michael Narducci, said that Marcel will soon discover that the Mikaelsons are still alive. He may however forgive Klaus and his clan, should Divina comes back from the dead in "The Originals" Season 4.
Campbell told in an interview that her return to "The Originals" Season 4 is far from certain, but if she does, there is no telling when she will make an appearance in the upcoming season. The actress also revealed that the storylines have not yet been ironed out.
Davina still remains as one of the favorites among the show's fans, so many could not believe that their favorite character was killed off in "The Originals" Season 3. Narducci told Entertainment Weekly that Davina's death was important in the show's storyline.
With Davina out of the picture, the dynamics between the characters have certainly changed. Marcel will certainly become a major power player in "The Originals" Season 4, as the death of her adoptive daughter has made him see the Mikaelsons in a new light. He is now well-aware that the clan will sacrifice everything and anyone just to keep their family and power intact. His attack on the Mikaelsons means that he will no longer be bound to them.
It can only be speculated that Davina's return in "The Originals" Season 4 may also cause Klause to finally wake up.
