The South Korean technology giant, Samsung said that the global sales of its new smartphone, Galaxy S3 have exceeded 20 million, CBS News reported.
Since 2011, Samsung has outperformed Apple in worldwide shipments and the sale of Galaxy S3 is helping Samsung retain that.
Meanwhile in other news, Samsung, which is the leader in OLED technology and owns 99 percent of the market, has claimed that its rival LG has been "hiring its engineers and stealing its intellectual property," said VentureBeat.
Samsung will be dragging its South Korean rival to court. According to Samsung, "LG Display has consistently acquired our OLED technologies and other business secrets by inducing our researchers to transfer." The company accuses LG of hiring engineers from Samsung, stated a Korean news agency.
Samsung has been guarding its technology secrets very closely and about 11 people were fired for corporate espionage from Samsung. It's expected that the OLED and AMOLED sales may rise to $44 billion in 2016. Samsung wants $880,514 from LG Display for each case of infringement.
Elsewhere, Samsung takes a back step, an investigation into Samsung abusing its position in the wireless market. The investigation has been launched by the antitrust watchdog.
"We are reviewing whether allegations in the complaint lodged by Apple are true. Apple filed a complaint earlier this year that Samsung is breaching fair trade laws," said Fair Trade Commission official, reported The Sacramento Bee.
