It's clear that audiences love their superhero movies.
"The Avengers" grossed over a billion dollars globally this summer. "Iron Man 3" and "The Wolverine" are already in production.
"Thor 2" will start filming soon and Screen Rant has been investigating rumors that the character of Dr. Stephen Strange might have more than just a cameo appearance in "Thor: The Dark World."
The character of Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, saw her working beside Dr. Erik Selvig, played by Stellan Skarsgard. in the first version of the movie. While, in the comics, Dr. Strange is a neurosurgeon, he might fit into the role of scientist who can be interested in Foster's stories.
The site reports that Marvel studios is on the lookout for a strong contender who can fit the bill for Dr. Strange in case a solo film comes into the mix. The studio is said to be interested in actors similar to the roles of Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce's addition to "Iron Man 3."
The Playlist said, the choice of Marvel Studios was Joel Edgerton ("Warrior," "The Thing") but he is busy other projects. Another possibility according to the site, is Viggo Mortensen ("A History of Violence," "Eastern Promises").
"Thor: The Dark World" will be directed by Alan Talor ("Kill the Poor"). The cast of the film includes Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Skarsgård, Kat Dennings, Idris Elba, and Christopher Eccleston.
The movie will hit theatres on Nov, 8, 2013.
