Lionsgate released a gruesome image for "Texas Chainsaw 3D" a sequel to the hit horror movie, the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre of 1974," which is one of the most influential horror movies in cinema history.
The image of Leatherface carrying his iconic chainsaw is seen from behind heading to a warehouse.
The movie develops from where the original movie left off, a young woman terrorized by the Sawyer family escapes and informs about the ghastly terror of the Sawyer family. The townsfolk gather at the Sawyer house and burn it down supposedly ending their reign of terror. The story then fast forwards to the present day, where a young woman has inherited an estate in Texas from her grandmother who she did not know she had. She discovers the unsettling horrors of the place as the townsfolk might not have killed the entire Sawyer family, said Collider.
Alexandra Daddario will play Heather Miller and Dan Yeager will be playing the role of Leatherface, other cast include R&B singer Tremaine "Trey Songz" Neverson, Scott Eastwood, Tania Raymonde, Shaun Sipos, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, James MacDonald, Thom Barry, Paul Rae, and Richard Riehle.
The original Leatherface, Gunnar Hansen will be making special appearance along with Marilyn Burns, John Dugan and Bill Moseley from the previous "Texas Chainsaw" franchises, said Lionsgate.
John Luessenhop ("Lockdown") is set to direct this movie, which will be produced by Carl Mazzocone. The screenplay is written by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms.
The film opens in theatres on January 4, 2013.
