After previous attempts to bring Diana of Themyscira to the silver screen failed, Wonder Woman might finally come to life on TV.
Director and screen writer Joss Whedon was supposed to do a "Wonder Woman" movie but the project was called off by Warner Bros. Whedon went on to make the third highest-grossing movie "The Avengers." Another attempt to put Wonder Woman on TV was shredded by NBC, said Screen Rant.
But the legendary superhero will be revived on TV with a show called "Amazon," Vulture reports. Allan Heinberg ("Grey's Anatomy," "The O.C") will be scripting the possible series.
Vulture also added that Wonder Woman will be a young and the story will be prior to her becoming fully matured superhero. CW will be leaving out Wonder Woman costume and the action will take place at Wonder Woman's home of Amazonian .
Heinberg has been writing for soapy drama that is female-centric but he is not the one who can pack in action filled Wonder Woman program. But he does have a comic book base where he has worked with Marvel's "Young Avengers" series, has co-written "Justice League" and even has written "Wonder Woman" #1-4 for DC Comics, said Screen Rant.
Variety reported in June that Warner Bros. was making a new film that revolves around Wonder Woman's character. Michael Goldenberg, who co-wrote the "Green Lantern," is expected to write for "Wonder Woman" movie. "Amazon" and the "Wonder Woman" movie can come to life around the same time.
