Lionsgate said in a press release that Jeffrey Wright ("Quantum of Solace," "Syriana") will be cast in the role of Beetee for the movie "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire."
The movie is an adaptation of Suzanne Collins' hit novel "Catching Fire." The novel has sold over 50 million copies. It is the second book in the "The Hunger Games" trilogy.
The adventure of Katniss Everdeen continues in a post-apocalyptic world of Panem, with rebellion simmering but President Snow is very much in control of Capitol and Kaniss and Peeta Mellark, fellow tribute are forced to return to the arena for The Quarter Quell that might change Panem altogether.
The movie will be directed by Francis Lawrence. Production will be handled by Nina Jacobson's Color Force along with producer Jon Kilik. Michael Arndt is writing the story and Simon Beaufoy the screenplay.
The other cast members include, Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Sam Claflin, Alan Ritchson, Stanley Tucci, Jena Malone, Willow Shields, Woody Harrelson, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Donald Sutherland, Lenny Kravitz, and Toby Jones.
This movie will be sequel to "The Hunger games" that was released on March 23. It was the 13th highest grossing movie outside the holiday period. It was directed by Gary Ross.
The movie Catching Fire is expected to hit theatres on Nov. 22, 2013.
