'The Wolverine' Movie News: The Jean Grey School for Higher Learning to Appear in New X-Men Flick?

Though fans and critics were thoroughly disappointed by the movie, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," the new James Mangold's "The Wolverine" is out to avoid the mistakes from the previous Wolverine movie.

The solo Wolverine movie takes him to Japan where he will battle against bad guys like Viper and Silver Samurai.

Hugh Jackman has said in a recent interview that the new movie will not be overloaded with mutants. This doesn't mean "The Wolverine" will be a standalone movie detached from the rest of X-Men franchise.

Conventry Telegraph provided a leaked image of the set, which that looks like the logo of Jean Grey School for Higher Learning.

"The Jean Grey School for Higher Learning was formed when Wolverine decided to re-establish Xavier's institute, naming it in honor of 'his long-lost love' Jean. Wolverine is its headmaster, Kitty Pryde its headmistress and Beast the vice-principal, while senior staff include Gambit, Rogue, Iceman and Rachel Summers, (the alternate-timeline daughter of Cyclops and Jean)," Comic Vine explained via ConventryTelegraph. "Xavier is still alive in the comics and appeared in the first issue to pass the torch and see his dream continue in new hands."

The movie seems to be following up on the events of "X-Men: The Last Stand," where Cyclops and Jean are dead, Wolverine settles in a mansion and Xavier, though dead, has transferred his consciousness. This new setting could be the basis for the future sequel, "X-Men: Days of Future Past," said ConventryTelegraph.

In reply to a Twitter question to director James Mangold, "where does your Wolverine fit into the existing Fox X-Men time line?", he cryptically answered, "I can't answer you now nor could I answer before, but after everything is over I can answer, and that, in itself may be an answer", reported Comic Book Movie.

The cast of the movie includes Jackman, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, and Svetlana Khodchenkova. The movie is an adaptation of Frank Miller and Chris Claremont's classic comic book from 1982.

The movie will release July 26, 2013.
