‘Pokémon GO’ Latest News & Update: Game Module Used To Stage Armed Robberies, What Does The Police Have To Say?

"Pokémon GO" has taken the world by storm, allowing both the trainers and the curious to capture Pokémon creatures in the real world. However, notorious Pokémon criminals set unsuspecting players up for armed robbery, the police reported on Sunday.

'Pokémon GO' Used To Set Armed Robbery

Screenrant reported that someone discovered how to use in-game items in "Pokémon GO" to lure unsuspecting players for an ambush according to O'Fallon Missouri Police Department.

Four suspects were apprehended using the Lure Module in "Pokémon GO" to lead lots of Pokémon creatures to a specific location. In turn, this will attract "Pokémon GO" users to capture the creatures inside a secluded area where they can be easily robbed.

Other "Pokémon GO" users can detect when a Lure Model is activated so they would usually visit the place in the hopes to capture a lot of Pokémon creatures. This is what the suspects hope to happen.

Four Suspects Apprehended Using 'Pokémon GO'

The Guardian reported that O'Fallon Missouri Police Department responded to a robbery report, which led them to the capture of four suspects. The suspects were all local residents, aged between 16 and 18, and found in a black BMW in a CVS parking lot.

The suspects were charged with first degree robbery, a felony and had a bond set at $100,000.

The four suspects apprehended by the O'Fallon Missouri Police Department were reportedly tied to other armed robberies in St. Louis and St. Charles counties. With this discovery, the police authorities have cautioned "Pokémon GO" users to remain vigilant and cautious.

The warning advisory to all "Pokémon GO" users was posted by the O'Fallon Missouri Police Department on Facebook.
